- MUSIQUE(S): Created for the American Folklife Center – and to be made available in the permanent archives of the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. – Musique(s)! celebrates Louisiana’s rich tradition of music sung in French and Creole. An ambitious project, Musique(s)! will result in the creation of an album and publication, as well as the release of a film and an exhibition that will be presented at the Historic BK House & Gardens in early 2025.The song recordings and filming of the interviews took place at Esplanade Studios in August 2024, with six musicians and bands: Leyla McCalla (Grammy winner), Louis Michot (Grammy winner, Sweet Crude, Sunpie & the Louisiana Sunspots, Les Cenelles, and the Baby Dolls. August 2024.
- Keywords for Black Louisiana Keywords for Black Louisiana: Enslaved and Free in Gulf Coast Louisiana uses the Louisiana Colonial Documents Digitization Project as a resource for surfacing submerged Black and Indigenous histories, drafting a corpus of keywords that map the rich texture of Black and Indigenous people in this region. This performance was with our beloved Les Cenelles string family, Sultana Isham. August 2024.
